Infant Community (18 months - 2 years of age)
In a caring and nurturing environment full of language, the teacher assists the developing children. Activities are carefully designed to appeal to the children and to enhance their intellectual and physical needs.

Furniture and materials are small and light, inviting the child’s participation and growth. With careful guidance and through purposeful movement, the children are allowed to develop natural independence.

Casa Community (3 - 6 years of age)
The environment for the Casa aged child allows development of skills through exploration and manipulation of specially designed materials. Activities offered include:
  • Practical life exercises that assist children in learning to take care of themselves, each other, and their environment.

  • Sensorial activities that provide specific opportunities for exploration which refine the senses.

  • Language exercises that nourish the child, enriching his/her vocabulary, enhancing self expression and developing reading and writing skills.

  • Mathematical materials that offer an exciting, concrete experience of number concepts and operations.

  • Cultural subjects which include biology, science, geography, history, art and music.

Elementary Community (6-12 years of age)
At Clanmore we remember the origin of the word education, which is the Latin word “educare” meaning to lead out or draw forth. Our primary function is to educate the whole child for life. To do this we implement two essential elements: the first is a community of children of mixed ages in which the child can grow emotionally and socially; the second is the academic instruction suited to the individual’s stage and rate of learning. The children are grouped in two age groups in the Elementary Community; the Lower Elementary class of six to nine year olds and the Upper Elementary class of nine to twelve year olds.

Parent Community
The Parent community at Clanmore fosters the nurturing environment that supports the children, their teachers, the parents themselves and the school.
