Our mission is to offer a unique educational program for children of ages eighteen months to twelve years. We will offer a top quality environment which will meet the total needs of the child and will foster family life. The program is based on the philosophy of Maria Montessori, who emphasized the vital need for early childhood education and who developed an approach to children consistent with their natural development and their fundamental desire to learn.
It is our aim to offer individual attention to the development of the whole child. To reach this goal the fully trained teacher guides the children using the principles of freedom within limits and self-directed activity. This will allow each child to achieve maximum potential without pressure and to develop a keen sense of self.
Today, we know that the early years of life are most important in the development of the person. We respect the rights, dignity and integrity of the child and provide for his or her individual needs and at the same time, foster the spiritual life of the child.
The program consists of carefully planned days filled with opportunities for individual and group activity, indoor and outdoor play and nutritious snacks in a warm and caring environment. Within this carefully prepared environment, the child may freely choose activities which pertain to daily life, including care of the person, care of the environment, grace and courtesy which lead to the development of personal independence, problem solving and respect for both themselves and the community.
Intellectual independence is aided through development of the senses. It is through manipulation of concrete materials that the child comes to learn the basic essentials of mathematics, language and the world in which we live.
As the children are always together with others of different ages, an atmosphere of family life prevails, providing the children and their families with a feeling of security and belonging.
